This one will make you smile.
For me it looks like my back feels.

This though not perfect might just have a LOT to offer !

OK John (Slick), I walked two miles out into this field to take a picture of something you said doesn't exist. Of course those were old man miles which are kind of like doggy years, each one equaling about 150 yards. Sut standing before you in this picture is a perfect saguaro.

I know this is known as a desert, but it sure is beautiful.

I guess if the turkey vultures are perched I probably won't have to worry about any fresh roadkill.

Regardless of the minor code discrepancies, this was a beautiful city park.
We also found a couple of minor code violation but were assured they would be fixed within the next ten years.

John and I rode down to Mexico this afternoon and came across this old church while touring the town.

On the way back to the motel, I spotted this little church out in a field. I don't think too many adults could even stand up in it.

Can you say Slim Pickens!

This is the Sherm who drove this tank in WWI and for whom this tank is named.

Notice the dings in the side where it was struck by heavy artillary.

This Sherman tank was there.

There was a great display of some army tanks, guns, artillary, etc.

We entered this army post without permission and they sent this chopper to intercept us.
Mal was intent on getting a picture of the dam, I was intent on getting a picture of the hills on the other side of the river, but got Mal instead.

Heading up the trail we came to Laguna dam on the Colorado river. Tony says those are dragon teeth and are supposed to reduce the erosive effect of the water.

Inside their store you could buy date shakes as well as a multitude of other things made from dates as well.

The grounds are a beautiful park like setting.

Our first stop on todays ride is the date farm.

We are headed back to the motel after a nice day of sightseeing. Later were going to eat at El Charro's Mexican restaurant.

I was trying to take a picture of this bus they use for moving the farm hands from one field to another. As you can see, this is one of the self contained models. I just wish Sherm would quit trying to get in all of my pictures .

Since we are attending the first annual lettuce run, we headed out to see the lettuce fields. This one had onions in it.

Then we had to get everyone to smile. They weren't able to make me do it so they kept me out of the picture.

Next stop was this photo op at Sherm's place. It wouldn't have taken too long, but this many bikes brought out all of his neighbors and they had to get pictures too. One even rode her own bike, it even had a basket on it.

Not sure that little chamber pot is going to do it for me on those hot sumer days in Yuma.

There were a few who were unjustly placed in lockup, but their good character was soon shown and they were promptly released.

Hardened criminals like this were never let go.

Some of the cells even had these nice recliners.

The bad guys lived here.

..........able to keep a good on the bikes too.

Great place to visit too!

This is the guard tower. Nice views of the area from here.

I'm dressed in Goldwing riding apparel. Sure beats the heck out of having to keep up the appearance of riding a V-twin on these hot days.

I don't know the name of this mission, but I took this from the prison yard. I think it was here so the guys in jail could get things in order before their final moments.

I think these guys were surveying the place, maybe planning for a prison break.

With this many, we even got the group rate.

First stop Yuma territorial prison to visit old friends.

Looks like we are ready to roll.

Most are just real nice folk, although mom did tell me to watch out for guys in tie dye.

Some are quite serious.........

Some are kinda scary!

Some are.................we'll you see!

VROC is made up of people from all walks of life.

People are arriving and old friendships are being renewed.

Ed and Carl are really mesmirized by John cleaning his bike .

Oops, no time to ride, gotta clean the bike!

Bikes are full, were full, time to ride.
The street food here is very good.
